Oh no, you're kidding!
Sometime with in this year, I'm not pretty sure if I heard the news right that there was a proposal that would allow all Barangay Brigades and Traffic Enforcers to carry firearms on their duty. Is it a joke? Many reacted about the news and I'm one of them. I'm not underestimating their capacity and ability to help maintain peace and order in the community. But I really disagree, because these people were only been appointed by the elected Barangay officials and some were only referred to by friends to the on going administration. Most of them, but not all had not gone to proper military and firearms training to carry one. It's not that easy to carry a firearm. An obligation and the national security is always a responsibility. Unlike our military, I know that before they got hold of their service firearm, they sacrifice leaving their love ones, to under go thorough training. And for this, I salute them of taking care of the national security doing their task to the best of their ability to maintain peace and order of the country. It is also an open book that some private individuals are also allowed to carry firearms for personal reasons but they should secure license for their guns and consider the limitations and to abide by the law for some aspects. And who ever proposed the said news, we may advise him to visit an agency to let him know the guidelines and training to under go before acquiring a gun.
