I've been preparing to go to the province again where I could relax and unwind even for just a week or two. My high school batch mates and classmates as well had been asking me if I could make it on December 30 of this year to attend the annual school reunion. I was sitting inside a Metro Rail Transit with my friend, facing two young looking guys at their twenties. At first, I can't understand what topic they are talking about. But as I got nearer to my destination, my companion smiled maliciously on me, as if telling me to listen to the conversation of the two guys in front of us. The guys were talking about the love affair of their office mate and it sounds as if the man they're talking of is their superior in the office. The tall and dark guy said "What do you think is the factor why Sir Daniel loved her wife so much where in fact she looked older than Sir Daniel?" The other guy didn't answer but preferred to smile. So the dark guy continues..." I will never be in love to a lady much older than me even she's the most beautiful girl in the world. I would rather marry a girl much younger than me. This time the other guy asked his companion.... "Why?" Don't you know that women lost their sex interest at an early stage of marriage rather than us, men?" said the dark guy. "Who told you so?" asked the other guy. "Did somebody ever tell you that....?" he continued asking." My uncle told me that her wife who’s older than him of ten years lost her bed activity as she approached her menopausal stage...." the dark guy proudly said. "Oh no, it isn’t a big deal.” said the other guy. “Your uncle may have a short meaning when it comes to the scoop of love… as long as you understand the meaning of love ….. For me, no more questions ask …. Just love and cherish it…” the other guy answered. I wasn’t able to hear the answer of the dark guy again, because I got nearer to the door of the train preparing to aboard with my friend.

I love Manny Pacquiao so much. An idol they say , a perfect husband risking his life and gaining so much for his family. And even his relatives and friends...and even his fellowmen. And he really deserves all the blessings... as you can see the effort he exerted every time he wants to achieve something BIG ... he aims high all the time and sure he's seldom frustrated. What I love the most in him is the attitude. He never quits nor surrenders…. He stands. Holds...aims... focus and the most important he prays before he ...punches. He's a kind of inspiration to me. But in spite everything, he humble himself. Never did you see him that he was disturbed by his wealth from his thirst..... I took time out to whatever I’m doing when Pacquiao had a fight. He is a total performer inside the ring. But lately his fight with Marquez scored him a little bit loser to others, even some of his countrymen agreed that Marquez did won the fight. But for me it's still Pacman who won the fight. If I'll not be wrong "Always protect yourself at all time" is always the last thing that the referee reminds both boxers to alarm him not to trust his opponent, right? Then here came Pacquiao and Marquez inside the ring for a twelve rounds. But after the last round people sounds as if they were not contented of the result of the fight. As if that Marquez was the winner...that it's not the fight they were expecting from Pacman. But came to think of it that both boxers had to protect their own life as they know how they were trained by their coaches to be the best fighter at all time at that moment. Everyone was expecting of a knock out? We must remember Marquez is a great fighter. Did you think Pacman will donate his own life inside the ring just to give the feeling of being entertained of the fee you spent to witness the fight? How much is Pacman's prize today? Just put yourself on Pacman's shoes, I'm sure it's not that easy to knock down the opponent that way. So you have seen how careful Pacqiuao was and so did Marquez, right? May be it's enough that Pacquiao won and so be it! Even I was very frustrated of the fight but since Pacquiao was announced the winner, I felt as if I was also a winner. Be proud! That's entertainment; sometimes you're entertained and sometimes you're not... Agree?

Feeling alright after the storm

Oh here comes again the feeling of being intact after those stormy days. Compose to drive a long and sloppy road but now not alone; I know. Five senses do actions individually in one direction not allowing anyone to disturb the focus. Driving alone thinking of no one but of the force that says, you can make it to the finish just aim high and don't somebody be a hindrance because I'll be behind you, someone who supports my mind and my being during ups and downs.And it's me alone that can feel who's HIM. Fish kill in Batangas

I don't know where to start my post, since I forgot the day when the fish kill in Taal, Batangas started. Batangas is in the southern part of Luzon. It is also very near Tagaytay, one of the tourists spots here in the Philippines. While I was typing this post, I'm also viewing a television and seeing some of the fisherman's families narrating the difficulties on their livelihood caused by this fish kill. According to one of the fisherman's wives who lived near the Taal Lake, she had seven kids. One of her children stopped going to school after the fish kill because her husband had the difficulty to catch fish and this affects their daily lives. I wasn't able to buy school supplies for one of my son, so she was force to stop. I sold what my husband catches every time he goes out fishing but what will I sell if he goes home empty, said the fisherman's wives. We sometimes experienced eating once a day instead of three, she added. Her husband also said that catching fish before is so easy but after the fish kill caused by crowded fish pins installed by businessman, she can't easily catches fish. Added to his problem is the fact that if he catches fish, nobody buys it because customers tend to think that fishes came from the fish kill. And that's why he keeps on saying that he hopes that no one of his children will inherit his job, being a fisherman. Then another head of the family was also been narrating that he is also a fisherman and at the same time raises horses to earn a living. He said we use our horses for his “horse riding business". Most of our customers are foreigners and we were given tokens if they were contented of our service. With this fish kill customers didn't come here anymore to relax and have fun so we are force to spend our savings and we we're not quite sure yet when they are coming again. The fish kill incident didn’t only affect the lives of the people nearby having a living by the lake but also the lives of different species living in the water. Sometimes we never felt the signs when to stop our greediness and being abusive to our mother nature until we realize that everything we have, were already wash out. And it was estimated to at least one hundred forty eight million pesos was damaged by the fish kill. Government agencies had already acted to this problem.

Lunar eclipse

Oh!what a beautiful midnight and it's really worth waiting that after eleven years I am about to experience another lunar eclipse. A spectacular event that we shouldn't missed. It's hard to describe the feeling of seeing the moon slowly covered of a dark cloud and slowly lost its shines at almost four in the morning. It's the art of nature that happens once in a blue moon.

It's more than a month that I didn't post anything.. It's because, I was thinking to stop or continue; posting. But since I want to express myself too often at the very least or more in words, it's nice to compose and post.... And post again and most especially... I gain a lot in blogging. long lasting love?

I just don't know if you will agree or disagree with me. If it is effective to have a long love engagement to somebody? May be my own experience is not the same as yours. Flirting to early, to soon for only three weeks or being engaged for three weeks. I think not, but the only thing in my mind is to have a baby at that time. So, the baby came after nine months of being with my husband. After giving birth to my first child is not yet a guarantee that I will be with my husband for a long time since marriage is not a part of our conversation all the time. But I've been so patient for a very long time and thank GOD, I got married when my first child reach the age of five months. Taking a lot of understanding that I was to ahead to give myself to my husband without marriage. But I have no regrets at all; I am still with the father of my children. A lot of bad and good things happened but I STAY.., I stay in spite of all unpredictable circumstances and people around us. I admit that my husband was the weakest part of our relationship but thank GOD I always stand still to what ever happened. Sometimes people used to call us “Martyrs" because we cling on, not thinking the dignity of my being human. So I just want to beg your understanding that most of the time my children are always the consideration why I stayed. Secondly, I'm afraid to gamble another feeling to someone whom I don't know yet at least if I stay, I know well to play my cards in the manner of my husband. But don't think too much that I'm kind of a martyr and before you judge my husband, he hurt me so much emotionally. He remits his salary to me the time, that he was working. Lastly don't get me wrong if I keep trying to survive my marriage... it's my choice, don't get me wrong if I keep surviving my marriage...... may be I was very sure of myself that I was emotionally ready when I fall in love even at a very short time.

I felt I was in Vatican to see the people waving their hands and their national flags to witnessed the beatification of the late John Pope Paul II, that became the Blessed Pope John Paul II. Everybody loved him. And would you believed that the chair where the Blessed Pope used during his Manila visit can be seen at the church where we served. I just didn't know what's the story behind that chair and why of all the churches, why in our church?

Palm Sunday

I used to attend a 6:30 Sunday mass at St. Joseph The Worker Parish church near a subdivision where we lived. Last Sunday, I did plan to attend mass at the church I used to visit before but since my best friend asked me to bring her two blessed palms after the mass and I'm quite not very sure if I can produced what she's requesting. At the last minute I change my mind and attended mass at St. Joseph the Worker Parish church because I missed the adoration room for two Sundays I wasn't able to visit. Honestly as the mass was going on, I still don't know where to get the two blessed coconut palms my best friend was asking because not even one coconut palm vendors were still around to sell me. And I didn't know where to beg even only one. After the mass it's my habit to be blessed by the priest and got inside the adoration room to pray and thank the Lord for the blessings we received for the week. And after I went out of the adoration room, I helped some of the church staff to stack the chairs that we use during the mass. Then as I was pulling chairs one by one I saw another staff with a scissors, cutting the wire tied at blessed palms on the church post inside the church. So, I came nearer to her and asked her if I could bring home some of the blessed palms and without asking any questions she said "yes". Then I took two blessed coconut palms and I brought the palms to my best friend's house straight from the church before going home. But I have my question in my mind....... Is it alright to just asked somebody to give you and to have this palms without attending mass? Anyway I got a very big thank you from my best friend.

I had a neighbor whose husband is a seaman. She lived so abundantly, because she received a five digit monthly salary from her husband and besides she only have one child. She's a good lady with a big heart and she's also very approachable. But as the saying goes that life is not a bed of roses all the time. One day as she was about to send her kid to school a news reached her, that her husband met an accident on board. A week later her husband arrived and told her that the company doctor advised him to be home for good, because of his physical condition. Her husband received a separation pay from the shipping company and then what’s next for their living? Since her husband is the bread winner of the family and that the situation was different from what she used to be, she decided to put up a business. My neighbor put up a business just right on their vacant lot in front of their house. She said that it's quite comfortable for her to manage her business where she can look over her household and manage her business at the same time. She opened up a snack counter with a four setter table. Then she hired a helper to assist her. Her food prices are a bit competitive and very much affordable and foods were delicious. After six months, she’s very lucky that customers come and go and that she needs to expand her business. To make the story short her business expanded and I was also surprise to see that she had a calling card given to the customers. I’ve seen her calling card and I suggest her to have her own business logo for her business identity. I received an early birthday gift from a friend yesterday. It was specially delivered to me. Before I open the gift, I was hoping that it should be something that would nourish my mind. And upon opening it I found out that it was a new cooking book. Though I loved cooking books, I really want to have a short hand text book. My work requires writing notes as fast as I can and I should have my knowledge in short hand writing. Anyway, I might not worry so much where to find books that I need. There's academic books with variety of choices. Tell those topics you're looking for and you will not go home empty handed. You will be coming back to avail of there very, very low book prices. OUT OF TOWN

February 22, 2011, I had packed all my things for an out of town assignment. I left the house leaving all my responsibilities to Kathy for I will be away for five days. What a great challenge for me and my officemate going to a province, where we don’t know even a single person. We met at the office where we were given a budget by our field coordinator. After we had arranged everything in the office, we rode a taxi heading ahead the bus terminal. We left the terminal at around 7:30 p.m. and arrived almost 10:30 in our destination, so bad we still didn't know where to sleep that night. We asked somebody, where we can find a room to spent the night and go with our assignment the next day. We took a ride to reach the place advised by the man in the plaza and paid Php 700 for twenty four hours accommodation. As to make the story short my 5 days assignment had been a mission accomplished and it was one of the most unforgettable experiences ever been in my life. And one thing more, I realize that I can now leave my children attending their own needs by themselves while I was out of their sight.

PROMISE

God is always true to His promise.... Whatever He started with you, He will take it to completion. Because He perfectly loves you..... Nothing is hard if the heart has love; nothing is impossible when the heart understands; and nothing is heavy when God is in your heart....continue loving GOD above all,and you will harvest all the goodness in life!

GOD ANSWERS PRAYER

Thursday morning... a man was calling for somebody in front of our house. When I open the door, it's the postman calling my name. Then he gives me a brown envelope and let me sign my name as a proof of my acceptance of the said letter. Then the postman left and I got in closing the door. I slowly open the envelope and read the letter. Frankly speaking I can't understand some words used in some of the paragraphs, but I say "THANK YOU LORD" as I read those lines I can understand a bit. Then, I keep the envelope in my box. Just to make sure I can understand the message clearly I read it again and again. The message answers one of my most long waited prayers. It relieves me of all my fears. GOD knows what's in our hearts and mind. Just keep on praying.

WINES

That was before New Year, when Susie who works at the Korean bar invited her friends for her 25th birthday. She also invited some of her classmates in high school to join the fun. She grilled and steamed different kinds of seafood, broiled fish and pork and make green mango salad. Oh... how they love the food she prepared. At around 6 P.M. they start drinking liquors of different kinds. Some preferred Beer, Vodka and Red wine. The girls had been singing, laughing and having a lot of fun when they didn't noticed that it's almost midnight and the birthday celebrant there's no more wine to serve for them. Nobody offered to buy drinks since they were all drunk but still they want to continue the fun. So some of them shouted some more Beer... Vodka....Red Wines..... Wines.... I hope there's a wine company that would hear them so wines could be delivered right away to go on with the celebration. I think they need wine deals for their information. One at a time

I just can imagine when boys got bored of their love ones even when you see the thoughtfulness and honesty of their partners. Just like my son who had just ended his four year old love affair almost two weeks ago now. I felt as being a woman, that his partner was so madly in love with him but he just throw that love affair so easily without regret. I hope that he will realize that it's his lose not the girl.

My friend called me up last week, to look for buyers of all their stuff inside their house because their all leaving for Canada as immigrants next month. I've been lucky enough I had contacted some friends and they promised to take a look of the items this week. It's been easy for me to look for buyers of their appliances, but I might have a hard time to sell their one month old sofa that her sister won on a raffle, because it's a big size sitter, made of a cheap kind of leather. I also had a friend interested of the sofa but she asks me if what kind of leather it's made of? And she said if it is made of leather furniture then she'll buy it. I was surprise to hear what she said, so I ask her what's wrong of the leather it's made of. I love leather furniture but I'm very particular with the leather that the manufacturer used and the designs and also the sizes, she said. And don't you know that leather furniture is having a bargain sale of their leather furnitures? I found it out one time when I happened to click on their site. So for sure I don't want to embarrass you, said my friend to me. But I rather make an order for a brand new one from a store that can be trusted of their product. Flowers and chocolates became so expensive during Valentine's day. No wonder these are the favorite gifts, girls always wants to have during love day. Taking your own life to escape problems in life? Suicide is not the solution! I just know the feeling of being depressed but not to the extent that I'll take my own life to escape big, big problems in my life. May be it's everyone's choice of weighing his or her problems. So what's the basis to end that way? Just like the news that blasts the nation of what happened to the former high ranking military officer and also serve the government for almost four decades more or less. I know everybody knows him. I look at him being a good father, a very brave soldier, a man with word of honor serving the nation for several decades. It is still a big question for us Filipinos, why he took his own life leaving some question unanswered. So for me I accept the fact that before he did it to himself he assisted his trouble so complicated. He took it so heavily that even his family were not able to calculate his capacity to carry his troubled mind. Anyway everything that happened has its own reason and God sometimes allowed it to happen, to give us lessons to learn of the consequences. And only the former General knows the reason for what he did. Let’s just leave it to him and go on with our lives. But please let’s pray for his soul for an everlasting peace and also for his mourning families to be strong to face the reality. He may rest in peace wherever he is! And I repeat again and again suicide is not absolutely the remedy to end your life. Think twice...thrice.....and so fourth!

Buttered green shell meat

I had a hard time thinking of what to cook and serve for lunch,for my family that Sunday noon. So, I went to the market to buy something different to their eyes and taste. Just to make the story short, I cooked and served everything i bought from the market. God really provides everything we need in life. Sometimes not so soon, but after a long wait here we have the installation of Manila Water Sewerage System. Waiting it for almost 25 years now we're just a month away to have a clean and permanent water in our home. Contractors were working it out twenty four hours to finish the installation as early as they can. Thank you for the effort of local and national government.

ENGINEER ABNER FRANCO'S BIRTHDAY

Kathy and other choir members will render songs today on Engineer Abner Franco's birthday. Eng. Franco is the other half of Tita Bing who leads the church choir at ST. JOSEPH THE WORKER'S PARISH, just a few blocks away our house. I hope they will have a good time offering today and yesterday songs to a man with a big, big heart no other than the...... the celebrant. A happy birthday but don't worry I will not ask about your age anyway!

CAR CARE

As I registered my car at the Land Transportation Office last year, I met Eda who's also in the process of registering her 5 year old car that day. She was writing her data on a registration form when a man behind the counter get near us and offered his service to make it easier and faster for us to register our cars. I refused and also Eda. I told him, I have a friend inside the Land Transportation Office that can manage everything for me. All I have to do is to completely finish everything about the registration form and leave the amount to my friend then it's finished. I'll just pick my new sticker and my official receipt and that's all. The next day as I enter the office, I saw Eda again and as if he was looking for somebody. I went to her and ask if she had finished registering her car. There she told me that the man that offered us her service yesterday got her money promising her of car insurance and some benefits from it. " Oh no Eda, you'd been a victim of a car insurance fixer ", I told her. If I only know that you will be compromising with that man then I only introduced you to my friend or had taught you how to insure your car on line. Untimely death

Just an hour ago, we saw again the news on TV that three persons been murdered two days ago. All of them were all connected in buy and sell of second hand cars. Both cases were of the same style in killing the victims. Investigations were theorized as it might be a car nap upon road test. I really sympathized with the victims and their families and friends. They're just a kind of those hardworking people who work hard for a living and come across their fate with this kind of untimely death. As I saw the news, I recall my experience selling a second hand car which I advertised through one of a popular internet sites. Buyers keep coming, calling and sending messages from anywhere in different provinces. Some were agents, while some were car agents. Anyway my point is, at times any buyers approached me to road test the car, first I would frankly tell him that I will not allow him to drive the car without me and my husband or somebody with me. I will only let the buyer drive the car alone but if I fell that he can be somehow trusted and if he insist he wants someone to be with him I'll allowed him. But my God, I prayed so much as the car road test is going on! Luckily I found a good buyer and until now we were friends. Now another lesson we learned that not all people we met along the road can be trusted. It's up to us to deal with them.

Today I'm getting to realize that multi tasking is bad for the body. It really gives us so much stress and unwanted aches in the body. Same with over loading of activities and routines in our mind. So one of my friend told me to record everything pertaining mental activities as not to forget what's next and the most important you will never forget most memorable dates on your life. Well, I agree with her at this moment.

PHOTO BOOKS

I'm a busy person all the time. And that's why all the time, even I'm sitting down viewing TV, I'm doing something out of my time. I'm used to do two things at a time or more. And I think it is called multi tasking which very bad for the body. Just like everyday, while I was cooking our breakfast in the morning my foot is stepping on a rug cleaning the floor. One afternoon while I was cleaning the cabinet I accidentally found old photos inside the bag, that was given to me by one of my friends years ago. But since I was busy that day, I post it as a reminder that I have to buy a photo book for those old family pictures that I hadn't given time for a long time. And to think again of how many hours I had to spend just for a piece of photo book? I was walking home carrying all things I bought from the market yesterday. When I happened to read from a newspaper displayed at the sidewalk stated "Floods in good and bad days." Isn't that alarming that even there’s no typhoon, floods are here in some parts of our country and also in other parts of the world? It flashbacks into my mind when I was young, that a super typhoon is only the threatening calamities that would damage lives and properties of the people. I never heard my grandparents told a story about floods on me when I was at the age where I can understands what's happening around the environment. And a flood nowadays is not an ordinary flood where you can wait to subside at a very short time. Come to think where this water came from. And water really came from nowhere and it came at the time where you can't protect yourself of the damages. Flood waters in any directions roaring as if angry of human beings who still abusing Mother Nature. But I think in my little way of understanding, the over population somehow contribute to cause floods. When we are over populated, even portion of bodies of water are being covered and converted into residential areas. As of this moment I can't imagine what to do for myself and my family if another Noah's Ark will be floating again because of what we are doing to our mother nature "Earth."

When I'm In Depression

Who says that depression is a sickness that can't be avoided and solved? At times we should welcome depression as a test of our faith and strength of our flesh. Depression comes within us when times nobody cares and we're in so much trouble of everything. But aren't you know that nobody can help us but ourselves alone. Don't be afraid to consult a doctor if necessary. Stand tall and be firm. Always think that in every problem there's a solution. But in every trouble you will encounter don't forget to ask guidance through prayers because the Lord will never fail you. I can now accept the fact that when I’m in depression; I am in my most powerful moment and strength.......

GOD HAD HIS ON UNIQUE WAY

Korina wants to buy a new pair of shoes to be used in their church service. So we went to the mall to look for black flat shoes that she wants. But as we were on our way to the mall, I told her that only a week ago I found a shoe that I think she likes and I might buy for her. So as we enter the mall, I took Korina to where I found the shoes and try to ask the size for her. After she fitted the shoes and I was about to pay for it she changes her mind. She asks me to look for other styles since we still have a lot of time to go around for the right one. Then we did stop from one shop to another. And then we finally stop at their favorite shoe center. I paid less than a thousand for the shoes and to my surprise as I reach my change for the bill I paid a small, familiar book was handed into my hand. It was a 2011 edition of "OUR DAILY BREAD." It was indeed surprising that God had His own surprising and unique means to reach us what we want in the most unexpected place and time. It's just in my mind that I should have one copy of the said book, but of no effort at all I got it, right there. Sometime ago, I was so bothered of so many problems that came on my way past med-year. But little by little I realized that God never left me alone facing those hard times when I almost standing alone solving those problems. For how many times I've been in this kind of situation, where I stand alone but things came in order through prayers. May be sometimes we are forcing ourselves to do things on our way, but of no good results. So, now I go with the flow where God will lead me what to do at His own right time.

DISTRACTED

The university where I teach as an adjunct professor provide laptops and computers for each student. While this can be an aid to students in many ways. I have discovered one thing it hinders learning . A laptops can become a distraction during class. Because the students take notes on their laptops, they have them open on their desk during class. The problem is that they find texting their friends, visiting Facebook, or checking on the Internet more interesting than their lectures.
A laptop loses value in the learning environment if it becomes a distraction -- even if what the students are doing is positive.
Good things can do that. Things that have value can draw our attention from what we should be paying attention to. This was true for Martha. Luke 10:40 says she was "distracted with much serving." which took her away from spending time with Jesus. In the same way, a good hobby can have value in and of itself. But if it distracts you from your family responsibilities or relationship with God, some changes are needed.

INSTALLED

At long last my "MS" was installed yesterday. Now I think I will be in the mood to post every now and then. It's a big help using an MS since I always had a hard time correcting my spelling.
